Members of Isfahan Council, World Crafts City
Due to its valuable position in the field of handicrafts and traditional arts (not only in the country but in the world) and after numerous follow-up by national and provincial authorities, Isfahan was introduced as the World Crafts City by the World Crafts Council in 2015. As a result of this valuable selection, the responsibility of the cultural servants of the country, and especially of the province has been doubled for the future of this eternal cultural and artistic city. With the formation of the World Crafts City Council, chaired by the highest political authority in the province (the Governor) and the membership of general managers and heads of governmental and non-governmental agencies associated with the council, the tasks of defining macro strategies and goals to maintain the title of this council were delivered to the agency.
One of the organizational tasks of the global cities was the establishment of the World Crafts Council, which in accordance with the notified executive instructions, the Governor of Isfahan was selected as the Council Chairman, the Director of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of the Province as the Secretary of the Council and Vice President of Crafts and Traditional Arts Organization, the mayor of Isfahan, the director general of the province's Islamic Culture and Guidance Office, the head of the provincial management and planning organization, and three provincial artists approved by the country's deputy of crafts and traditional arts, have been elected as the council members. The order must be issued by the Vice President and Head of the country's Cultural Heritage, Crafts and Tourism Organization.
Members of Secretariat of Isfahan World Crafts City
The World City Secretariat, under the auspices of the WCC, seeks to collaborate with and engage members technically (which is a mix of all craftsmen, artists, academics of governmental organizations, urban officials, etc.) in order to develop the annual goals of the world city, and implement the goals so that we witness the growth and prosperity of the city in the fields of commerce, education, promotion, production, and development of handicraft related infrastructure in Isfahan.
The overall goal of the establishment of Secretariat of Isfahan the World Crafts City is to promote the city’s level of handicrafts, and maintain the title awarded which requires to identify executive strategies for the growing handicrafts movement in all areas of education, promotion, development, manufacturing, economics, and commerce.
The Secretariat started operating after the city was elected in 2015 and has continued to do so. The Secretariat is responsible for monitoring the activities of the World City of Isfahan and producing an annual report with accurate information.
Following the election of Isfahan in October 2015 and notifying the relevant instructions, the organizational structure of Secretariat of Isfahan the World Crafts City began to operate.
